Minutes

• Call to Order at 7:06 PM – Muriel Ingalls
• Secretary’s Report – Susan Palmeter – fix the first line of minutes/accepted as printed with correction
• Treasurer’s Report – Ben Bixby – accepted as printed/no change from last month

Members present: Muriel Ingalls, David Buehler, Betsey Bixby, Jim Edwards, Betty Wright, John Halloran, Holly Ouellette, Mark Thom (Ridgewood Representative), Reid Van Heulen and Susan Palmeter.

Old Business

Rich St. Hilaire will notify the company to empty the Porta Potty. The Town did not place trash barrels at the ramp. Need to post Carry In Carry Out signs. The Town is open to posting Aquifer Protection Zone signs. Muriel was planning on attending the KCC meeting to talk about the signs.

New Business

• Update on website – Betty Wright – Here is the link to our new website. Thanks to Betty for all the hard work to get this set up. Kingston Lake Association – Great Pond, Kingston, NH (kingstonlakesnh.org). If you would like to contribute pictures or have any ideas, you may reach out to Betty at [email protected]. Send suggestions to Betty for what you would like to see on the website. Members online sign in, post the pictures/prints for the raffle, link to Facebook page, post minutes, meeting dates, maybe our timeline.
• Reid talked a bit about Camp Lincoln working with Forest Bell regarding camp infrastructure improvements, reduce flooding and erosion around the lake front. They have not applied for anything yet. There was a question regarding employing a company to do a comprehensive assessment of the lake. He also mentioned the Paddle Plunge on April 9th, which was a huge success and lots of fun!
• Timeline of Events
Feb. – Lake Host Grant writing, March 8 – DONE. Easier this year for Muriel as we were preapproved for the same amount we get every year which is over $5,000 for Lake Host, everyone is coming back this year to host, volunteers are always welcome! Election, May 14 State Park Clean Up. May 16, water sampling ??? June 20 water sampling. June Membership meeting – We talked about having someone from the Lake Smart Program, Holly mentioned the County Pond Association to discuss storm water runoff and other ideas to support the lake. Dave mentioned in article in the Carriage Town News about a presentation about rainwater happening in Sandown at the rec center and if it was interesting maybe that person could speak. July 18 water sampling. Regatta July 31. August 15 Water Sampling. September 19 water sampling. Jim Edwards is okay with the extra dates for water sampling and will be taking the samples to Concord for us. Thanks again Jim for volunteering!
• May newsletter – suggestions – Muriel is working on this. John Halloran will write about the VLAP report, March 13th was ice out, Muriel is going to write her recent siting of 6 loons and then 14 loons in a matter of two days.
• Fund raising activities for 2022 – Pictures –
• Muriel was planning on attending the Planning Board meeting on April 6th regarding the Aquifer signs
