A Special Message from Muriel

The loons are calling on Kingston Lake.  For the past several years, there have been loons on Kingston Lake.  I have observed them from the shore and in my kayak.  They are such a unique and fascinating bird.  Each call has its own meaning.  Their careful attention to their young is beautiful to behold.  Please join members and friends of the Kingston Lake Association on Wednesday June 24 at 7:00 at the Kingston Community Library.  Caroline Hughes, biologist from the Loon Preservation Committee, is going to give a talk on loons.  You will learn about their calls, their nesting sites, why their eyes are red and where they spend the winter.  This fascinating bird is a joy to watch.  We will have a social time from 7:00-7:30; our guest speaker will be from 7:30-8:30. You will also have a chance to purchase “all things loons” raffle tickets.  Don’t miss this evening of fun and learning.  For more information call Muriel Ingalls 642-3156 or dmingalls@comcast.net
