YMCA-Camp Lincoln Turns 100 Years Old!
This year marks a very special milestone for our neighbors on Kingston Lake — YMCA Camp Lincoln is celebrating 100 years! It all began in 1926 when Warren Tucker sold the Rockingham County YMCA 65 acres of land on the shores of Kingston Lake, where a dining hall and eight cabins were built to create a permanent summer camp dedicated to the boyhood of President Abraham Lincoln. Over the past century the camp has grown from a boys-only overnight retreat into a year-round program welcoming campers of all backgrounds. To mark the occasion, Camp Lincoln is hosting a free family celebration on Sunday, July 26, 2026 — a wonderful opportunity for lake community members past and present to come together and honor this cherished piece of Kingston’s history. Congratulations to Camp Lincoln on 100 remarkable years! Read More about the Centennial Celebration here: Camp Lincoln Centennial Page
